Applied Motion Products will be moving into our new headquarters in Morgan Hill over the weekend between Friday July 23rd and Monday July 26th, 2021. We are pleased to announce that we are nearing completion on the construction of our new corporate headquarters. The new 47,000 sq. ft. building, located in Morgan Hill, CA, will be completed in two phases and will consolidate all Applied Motion Products operations into one location. The first phase will be completed in June 2021, with the company moving into the new facility shortly after that.

After more than 33 years of dedicated leadership and service to Applied Motion Products, Jeff Kordik has announced his retirement. Under Jeff’s guidance, the company has made many successful and profitable technical advances. We are grateful to Jeff for his many years of service and wish him well in retirement.

Applied Motion Products marked another important milestone in the construction of our new headquarters. On August 6, after delays related to the COVID-19 pandemic, a groundbreaking ceremony took place on the site of the new building in the Madrone Business Park in Morgan Hill, CA. Board members and staff from Applied Motion Products and parent company Shanghai Moons Electric were on hand, along with developers Toeniskoetter, architects Eaton Hall, representatives from the City of Morgan Hill, and local press.

Applied Motion Products is excited to welcome Joel Thomas to our sales team. Joel has spent the last six years as a Senior Account Manager for iAutomation, increasing market share for the automation components distributor in the Carolinas and selling a portfolio of industrial automation products. Focused on OEM sales, Joel has experience selling into a variety of industries including pharmaceutical equipment, food and beverage manufacturing, aerospace, material handling, and automotive.

SCHAUMBURG, IL (May 2020) – In a collaborative effort to support the healthcare industry during this COVID-19 crisis, HEIDENHAIN is working with Applied Motion Products, Inc. to expedite critical components to a large manufacturer of ventilators. Now in various stages of delivery, the Applied Motion Products’ StepSERVO™ Integrated Motors equipped with HEIDENHAIN’s RENCO encoders are making their way into the production of 5,000 new life-saving medical devices.

Applied Motion Products is excited to announce that we have purchased land to build new corporate headquarters in Morgan Hill, CA, located in Santa Clara County at the southern tip of Silicon Valley. The new headquarters will consolidate all U.S. operations (now conducted in two separate buildings in Watsonville, CA) including production, warehouse, operations, engineering, customer service and executive management in one location for greater efficiencies and synergy among the different departments.

Applied Motion Products is excited to announce that Lane Andrews has joined our Application Engineering team. Lane recently graduated with a B.S. in Mechatronic Engineering from California State University, Chico, where he developed his interest in motion control programming and the optimization of automated systems. The addition of Lane into our Application Engineering department is a sign of the recent growth at Applied Motion as we continually strive to strengthen support services for our customers and sales channel partners.

Applied Motion Products is happy to welcome Josh Burns as our new Northwest Regional Sales Manager. Josh will be working to grow sales and support our customers across the territory including Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and British Columbia.

Applied Motion is thrilled to announce our new employee Jesse Barr to the team as Application Engineer – Servo Products. Before joining Applied Motion, Jesse worked in industrial automation and aerospace industries. There he worked on a variety of servo controlled applications across North America supporting new and existing applications that ranged from a single axis to over 70 axes of motion. Before beginning his professional career, Jesse received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

We are pleased to announce reduced pricing on a number of Stepper Drives and Integrated Stepper Motors from our standard offering. These products are ideal for applications requiring advanced microstepping performance using basic step & direction control signals. In most cases these drives and integrated steppers can be setup and configured with on-board dip or rotary switches alone; no software required.

This achievement reflects the innovation and creativity behind the design of the StepSERVO Integrated Motors, which provide many performance benefits over traditional step motor systems.

Step motors are popular because they are low cost and easy to use. But experienced users know that the first time you violate the laws of physics and demand too much torque from the motor, the step motor will stall without warning. By adding an encoder to the system, step motors can be operated closed loop and traditional limitations can be avoided.

A premier postal sorting machine OEM in the northeastern United States has developed a machine to automatically sort irregularly sized mail items that traditionally have been sorted by hand. Representatives from Minarik Corporation (part of Kaman Automation, Inc.) and Applied Motion Products began working with the OEM early in the design stages, providing guidance on motor sizing and selection as well as prototype units for research and development purposes. Today the OEM has moved into production with the design, having already shipped several machines, and the StepSERVO integrated motors that have been implemented in the design are performing excellently, with more than 2000 motors in the field so far.
