by Eric Rice

This year's Pack Expo Las Vegas was a record-breaking show with more attendees and exhibitors than ever before. In the Applied Motion Products booth we hosted hundreds of visitors over the course of the three-day event, with many new and existing products on display.

The photos and videos below capture some of the highlights of the event.

Videos of Demos in the Booth

There were numerous demos inside the Applied Motion Products booth. We captured a few of them in these short videos featuring key members of our staff.

Integrated Motors with PoE Make Debut

Mike Maroney, Sr. Product Manager, walks through a quick demo of the newest StepSERVO™ Integrated Motor for use with Power over Ethernet (PoE). This NEMA 14 frame integrated motor receives power and communications over a single, standard Ethernet cable, taking advantage of the IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standard to deliver 25 Watts continuous to the motor.

5-axis EtherCAT Demo with StepSERVO Drives and Motors

Jeff Kordik, CTO, summarizes the highlights of our latest offering of closed-loop stepper drives and motors. The five linear actuators shown in the demo, driven by SSDC StepSERVO Drives and NEMA 11 frame StepSERVO Motors, are performing synchronized motion over EtherCAT as commanded by an Omron controller.

Integrated Motor with multi-turn, absolute encoder preview

Don Macleod, President & CEO, provides a quick preview of the newest integrated motors scheduled to be released at the end of 2019. These integrated motors feature multi-turn, absolute encoders for the ultimate convenience in machine setup. Time-wasting homing routines after machine power-up are a thing of the past, because these integrated motors track their absolute position even when no power is applied to the system.
