Pack Expo International is the world’s largest packaging and processing show. At this year’s event (November 6-9) Applied Motion will display why we are such a valuable partner for packaging machine builders. Booth # E10319 will exhibit the same proven motor and drive solutions that have been trusted by name brand manufacturers of labeling, inserting and feeding machines for years. If you haven’t already registered to attend Pack Expo it’s not too late.

1. Machines running entirely without a PLC.

Universal InverterMotion controllers on board Applied Motion drives have the power to run an entire machine consisting of multiple axes, a touchscreen operator interface and numerous input/output signals. Q Programming is a rich programming environment with a powerful and intuitive command set. Come see how Northfield Corporation puts this power to work to build high quality, durable and user-friendly coupon inserters. A pair of Northfield machines will be on hand to demonstrate.

2. Closed loop step motor systems with EtherNet/IP™ communications

EtherNet/IP productsIf you haven’t seen StepSERVO closed loop stepper technology in action yet, you’ve been missing out. This innovative product line of integrated motors continues to improve with the introduction of improved EtherNet/IP communications. Dual-port Ethernet and an enhanced output assembly mean that these integrated motors perform better than ever in packaging machines that run on an EtherNet/IP network. With higher torque, higher acceleration and better throughput from a motor that runs quieter, smoother and more efficiently than any step motor you’ve used in the past, StepSERVO is The Next Evolution in Step Motor Technology.

3. The latest motor and drive solutions for EtherCAT® networks

EtherCAT drive and motorWe are excited to introduce our first products to support EtherCAT networks. A live demonstration will be on hand at Pack Expo for you to get a first look. This initial product offering has been rolled out on stand-alone StepSERVO Drive and Motor products. These drives and motors provide the same excellent performance as the proven StepSERVO Integrated Motors, but in a non-integrated, separate drive and motor package. StepSERVO drives come with support for CiA 402 motion profiles including Profile Position, Profile Velocity, Profile Torque, Cyclic Synchronous Position, Cyclic Synchronous Velocity and more.
