Large format 3D printer manufacturer 3DP Unlimited had an incredible showing at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in January. Because of their ability to print large items to scale and not just in miniature, 3DP Unlimited set a new bar for additive printing capabilities and garnered a great deal of attention from the press.

Witness some of the enthusiasm for 3DP Unlimited’s innovative offering in this video from FoxBusiness.com.

The flagship 3DP1000 printer makes use of Applied Motion Products’ STM integrated step motors to precisely control the motion of the primary gantry axes X, Y and Z. Accurate and reliable positioning ensure that the print head is always in the right position at the right time. The compact, integrated design of the STM means that separate motor drives are not required, which reduces space inside the control cabinet as well as cost.

STM integrated steppers are just one of a long line of innovative motor and drive products offered by Applied Motion Products. Other noteworthy products include step motors with IP65 ratings for wet environments, motor drives with EtherNet/IP, CANopen and Modbus networking options, and the new J Series low-inertia servo motors.
