Many of our stepper and servo drives have I/O available for connecting to external devices such as control signals, incremental encoders, limit switches, proximity or photoelectric sensors, PLC I/O, lamps, and other devices. The drives come with digital inputs, digital outputs, and single-ended analog inputs (analog inputs can be wired together as 1 differential analog input). Adjustable digital filters are present on the digital inputs for enhanced reliability in noisy environments.

The I/O available on the drive can be found at the Specifications link under Product Details.

We have several drive options that give you additional Extended I/O beyond the standard IO offering.

The STAC6-QE and STAC6-QE-220 stepper drives come with15 digital inputs, 7 digital outputs, and 2 single-ended analog inputs (analog inputs can be wired together as 1 differential analog input). For comparison, the STAC6-Q is provided with 7 digital inputs, 3 digital outputs.

The BLuAC5-QE and BLuDC9-SE servo drive comes with 15 digital inputs, 7 digital outputs, and 2 single-ended analog inputs.

The available I/O on all our drives combined with our powerful Q Programming capability provide you a standalone motion control solution that in many applications does not require an additional PLC or 3rd party controller. The reduction in components saves you time, wiring, panel space, and cost.

The I/O is programmed by our intuitive user friendly Q Programming software; for the stepper drives ST Configurator and for the servo drives Q Programmer. If you find you need some spare I/O on your machine, the Drive I/O can be used independently of your motion control operations if desired.
