With the advent of the EtherNet/IP line of products, drives from Applied Motion Products can now communicate with the world’s leading PLC vendors using the most popular native communication protocol: EtherNet/IP. With its unparalleled power and flexibility, EtherNet/IP has captured a huge part of the industrial marketplace. Unfortunately, configuration and use of EtherNet/IP devices has historically been a difficult and mysterious process for many users.

To simplify the process, Applied Motion Products has published three application notes designed specifically to ease the learning curve involved in bringing our two technologies together.

APPN0022: CompactLogix to EtherNet/IP Drive. This appnote covers the configuration process and includes basic sample PLC code for controlling an AMP drive from a Rockwell CompactLogix PLC.

APPN0023: MicroLogix to EtherNet/IP Drive. This appnote covers the configuration process and includes basic sample PLC code for controlling an AMP drive from a Rockwell MicroLogix PLC.

APPN0024: AOI’s for RSLogix5000. This appnote includes support files for the use of Add-On Instructions specifically designed for use with AMP drives. These command groups allow simplified control of the drives through Rockwell’s RSLogix 5000 programming software.

These documents are a part of a growing library of application notes and support documentation generated by Applied Motion Products in an effort to ease the technological barriers inherent to modern Industrial Automation.
