Introducing Brushless Planetary Gearheads

Applied motion Products is pleased to announce our new PG series of inexpensive planetary gears. Custom designed for use with our new line of brushless DC motors, our first model is available in 42 mm diameter with as many as three gear stages and a wide variety of reduction ratios ranging from 3.65:1 to 393:1. See the website for stocked standard ratios. Output torques ratings range from 3.0 to 15 N-m (425 to 2100 oz-in).

Introducing Encoders for IP65 Stepper Motors

Applied Motion is pleased to announce the addition of an encoder option to our IP65 rated stepping motors. We accomplish an IP65 rating of the encoder by enclosing it in a metal cover with an integrated o-ring for added protection. This provides the necessary protection to meet industry standard IP65 requirements. Both the motor and encoder leads have cable glands for seal tight protection. All in all, these features contribute to an excellent design where protection of the motor and encoder are of paramount concern.

Introducing Quad Stack Step Motors

Torque You Very Much. That’s what step motors are all about – bringing torque to the application. The exceptional low speed torque of a step motor can be used to accelerate a heavy load or overcome stiff friction, in many cases providing enough excess torque to avoid the use of an expensive gear reducer. It’s no surprise that our most popular motors are the HT17-275 and HT23-601, each providing the highest torque in their respective frame sizes, NEMA 17 and NEMA 23.

Introducing IP65 Rated Step Motors
