Applied Motion Products is proud to announce new additions of our line of brushless DC motors & drives. In addition to the line of 42mm motors introduced last year, the company is now offering six 57mm and 80mm motors. The new motors range in power from 60W to 300W with available continuous torque of 21 to 102 ounce inches and are ideal for speed control applications.

Applied Motion Products has offered step motors with 10-ft. shielded cables for motors matched with higher voltage drives for years. Customers see the value of purchasing a step motor with a high quality, shielded cable already installed by the factory, which saves time and money from having to do this themselves in the field. Because of the success of these motors, we have expanded the offering to include cabled motor options for lower-powered DC drives as well.
Demanding industrial environments require tough motors and drives. The increasing application of automation in the food and beverage industry has driven the need for motors and drives that stand up to wet and dusty operating environments while delivering expected reliability, performance and value. Applied Motion Products has responded to these needs by developing a line of motors and integrated drive+motors that have been certified IP65 capable.
In applications where machine designers require high torque but are faced with restrictive space constraints or driver power is maxed out, ultra high torque stepper motors can provide an effective solution. The availability of this class of motor provides designers with options to achieve 25-45% greater torque in a stepper motor package that is size for size identical to a conventional motor. In some cases this can avoid the need to jump to a higher frame size to obtain sufficient torque for the application.
The new STM24 models fuse a high performance motion controller with 100 MBit Ethernet communications to a high torque NEMA24 step motor. Connecting to an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix or MicroLogix PLC? EtherNet/IP is also available. All STM24 models provide 340 ounce inches of torque, easily overpowering size 23 motors but still mounting in an NEMA23 form factor.
The SWM24 fuses a high performance motion controller to a high torque NEMA24 step motor. (The NEMA24 frame size mounts like the popular NEMA 23 motor, but has a 15% larger cross section, allowing it to deliver more torque in the same length.) The entire package is engineered to resist the ingress of water and dust to IP65 standards. All connectors are sealed, M12 style. Mating cord sets are available from stock to get you up and running quickly.
