White Paper on StepSERVO™ Closed Loop Steppers

StepSERVO™ closed loop stepper technology is a major improvement over traditional, open loop stepper technology. By closing the loop around speed and position data – using high resolution encoders and the same PID control that’s used with a servo motor – StepSERVO closed loop systems outperform open loop systems in every way. Increased torque, higher throughput, more efficient operation and less audible noise are just some of the benefits.

New 0.9 Degree Step Motors

Applied Motion is pleased to announce the addition of 0.9 degree step motors to our product offering. 0.9 degree step motors are advantageous when a microstepping drive is not available. Because 0.9 degree motors have twice the step resolution (400 steps/rev) than 1.8 degree step motors (200 steps/rev), they run inherently smoother when driven with full or half step drives.
